The Technology Obsessed Warrior: Givenchy Spring/Summer 2014
I have to be honest, I haven't been as on top of men's fashion shows. It's quite unfortunately actually, because I've viewed some of the collections and to have not seen them on the catwalk is devastating. But fortunately for us, we have technology!
So, if you may have noticed, I love Givenchy. Like, utterly love everything about the design house. It's classic, but so eclectic. And wearable. One day, and hopefully soon, I want to style a shoot that is strictly Givenchy...yes. Lol. Anyway, back to the fashion show. I loved the collection. Riccardo does a great job at integrating an idea into wearable, artistic, fashion which is something that I feel a lot of designers attempt but don't quite accomplish. For his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, we are given tribal, techie, fantasy. The colors are very vivid and lay on a simple backdrop. And we have some major color blocking. We also see the resurgence of women capturing the oversized fashion. In this case, with the oversized, structured blazer. Love! From the coats and sweaters, to the leggings and collared shirts, everything is perfect! So give me feedback. What do you think of the collection? Do you think it's too much or just enough? Until next time, stay fashionable! Xx

I give you::Givenchy AW 2013/14
So like I said, I've been a terrible person and haven't posted in a while. I hope this makes up for it! I did manage to check a few tweets here and there to see what people were saying about Givenchy, and let me just say that it wasn't the best. While some did love the collection, others? Not so much. But alas, I'm a Givenchy fan...even though I own not a single piece. Maybe one day
First off, can we just talk about the major Disney reference. Bambi? Bambi?! Like the happy, little deer Bambi. Loved it. Also, we had a focus on the femininity of the woman with this collection. And if that was hinted at by the lace pieces, floral prints, and snakeskin boats then...There was an element of grunge still there, however. With the oversized sweatshirts and leather.
For me, I thought the collection was great. It showed a side of Givenchy that was new to me. But then again, I only started paying attention to Givenchy about a year ago so...yeah. Awkward. Anyway, I loved it. I loved the new direction and everything about it. So yeah, that's about it. Again, sorry about the neglect. Just so many things have been going on *tear* but I'm back now. So until next time, stay fashionable. Xx
In the meantime, please enjoy this short clip. :)

Balenciaga and Alexander Wang! Excited Much? Thought So...
Hi my fashion followers. As I'm sure you can tell by the title, today I want to discuss Alexander Wang's debut collection with the Fashion House, Balenciaga. But before I get into that, let me just say that I did well on my midterms....very happy about that *thumbs up*
Anyway, moving from my not-so-exciting life, I was very impressed by the collection. I thought Alexander stayed true to his own ideas and designs, but infused it to accent the past designer of the house, Mr. Cristóbal previous work. First off, for those of us who didn't get a chance to watch the show as it was happening (which meant waking up at 3AM EST...yeah), I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from when I say that I was upset that I didn't get to see how the crackled floors contrasted with the actual clothing. I thought that was a really cool concept to incorporate. Also, I liked that about the pieces themselves also. Wang integrated the crackled detailing in the clothes (the fur pieces actually) which gave an edgier vibe to it, in my opinion. I also really liked how he changed up the peplum by having it molded to the body and them flaring out...I don't think that's called a peplum...awkward. Anyway, another detail I liked was the very streamline, kind of geometrical, fitted dresses. I thought those were really chic. There was also a lot of volume added to his coats as well, which I also thought was really cool. And then, of course, I'm a sucker for black and white anything #TotesAmaze. Now, I didn't see the show so I don't know who the shoes held up, but just glancing at them, they aren't my favorite. They just looked difficult to work with and odd to me. But that's just me.
Overall though, I must say that I am very pleased with this collection. I think it hold true to Wang's design aesthetic. I like that it's wearable also, because as I've said before, designers need to make pieces that are wearable. But I do like the occasional "OMG" moment. So congratulations Mr. Alexander Wang, you've done well in my book.

Men's Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton
I would like to thank Kim Jones for this lovely collection. There was a sense of nature present. Literally. The collection possessed hints of animalistic/jungle-like aspects, such as vines and leopard print patterns. Fur was also incorporated which added more to this theme. My favorites by far were definitely the flower and vine patterned bags and blazers. But even with all these things combined, the collection felt very metropolitan. From the trench coats to the very streamlined jackets, the parkas to the flowered blazers and bags, the collection was well crafted and well tailored! Check out the entire Louis Vuitton collection by clicking here!
