Okay, so I'm biased. I love Givenchy and this year's men's collection is no different. At all! Black. That's basically all that needs to be said about this collection. Givenchy is known for being, well, dark with graphics that appeal to the younger crowd, myself included. But this year, Mr. Tisci brought a more couture vibe to the men. Fabrics were definitely involved this time around, with cashmere sweaters, velvet, and leather. I also loved the signature "Amerika" tag that was used to express his love for the country, just in a very dark way. There were moments of eery statues, images of sadness, dark flowers, and the American flag. I also loved the usage of zippers in his collection. Having them on both sides of the shirt was new and worked very well. Lastly, the stitched jackets were amazing. They gave off a "trapped" vibe and were sport-like in nature. Overall, I loved the collection. Givenchy took a different approach but I think it worked very well. I can't wait to see what else will follow this brilliant work!
